I have terrible gums too, so it's less of a gadget and more a preventative tool to keep me from hours of un-anethsetized torture in a dentist's chair. It's still kind of fun, though. Maybe it's just that the smiley face that you get when you brush for the whole 2 minutes elicits a Pavlovian response from me... I’ve had this toothbrush for about a year now.
