		<description>I *am* specifically referring to the owner of the Garneau. According to the employees of Pharos themselves, that&#039;s what&#039;s forcing them out of business. The owner is 80 but had no desire to retire yet.

A business owner raising a building&#039;s costs in order to force out a 40 year-old small business can hardly be attributed to the tastes of university students.</description>

		<description>Seem to recall reading that major impetus for closing was retirement, not the incursion of deep-pocketed commercial enterprise into the area.  The fast food chains have been around at least a decade if not longer, and Pharos was more than capable of holding its own.  If you blame anyone, talk to the owner of the Garneau and (possibly) the changing tastes of the university student.</description>
